A venous statis ulcer is a wound on the skin that occurs due to improper functioning of venous valves, usually in the legs. These ulcers are chronic and often develop on the lower leg, particularly around the ankles. Venous ulcers are a common complication of chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) and can significantly impact a person’s quality of life due to pain, prolonged drainage and the potential for infection.
Ranging from mild discomfort to severe pain, especially when standing.
Particularly in the lower legs and ankles.
Red, brown, or purplish discoloration around the affected area.
Sensations around the ulcer site.
The wound may produce fluid or pus.
The ulcer is slow to heal or recurs after initial healing.
Evaluation of symptoms and underlying conditions.
Checking for visible signs of venous insufficiency and ulceration.
To assess blood flow in the veins and identify any blockages or valve dysfunction or reversal of blood flow.
X-ray imaging with contrast dye to visualize the veins.
Compression stockings, bandages, or devices are used to reduce swelling and improve blood flow.
Regular cleaning of the wound, and dressing changes to promote healing and prevent infection. Debridement of the wound aids in removal of dead tissue from the ulcer to facilitate healing.
Antibiotics help to treat or prevent infection if necessary, and pain relief analgesics to manage pain.
Options include procedures such as vein ablation to improve blood flow, and close refluxing superficial veins.
In severe cases, skin grafting may be necessary to close the wound.
Regular physical activity to improve circulation.
Maintaining a healthy weight to reduce pressure on veins.
Raising the legs to reduce swelling.

Dr. Singha has helped me out so much. I have seen five different doctors and all of them kept offering the same option to get a myomectomy done but I knew there had to be a better option out there. A huge thanks to my primary doctor who introduced me to Dr. Singha. As soon as I received my first consultation I could already see that Dr. Singha knew exactly what he was doing and talking about, I was able to trust him right away. The staff has been the best and made me feel comfortable throughout the whole process. Now it has been a few months that I have received the UFE procedure and I can already tell the difference in my periods. Very light bleeding and almost no cramps at all. I will forever be grateful for Dr. Singha and all the staff who has been very supportive.
I’m very grateful with Dr. Singha’s office. The doctor and his staff and Ms. Sandra are very attentive and professional.
Dr. Singha is really very nice and explained everything very well. Ms. Sandra is always pleasant to speak to and does not get upset when I call her multiple times with the same questions over and over.
This office inspires me confidently.
Awesome staff and Doctor couldn’t get my praise more. The Doctor gave his time and knowledge to diagnose me and helped me with everything. Staff was so sweet and helpful. Best Doctor and Staff.
Dr. Singha and staff have been great from the start. Have had several procedures and all have been great. Very professional and courteous staff. Very satisfied with level of care.
I had several vein surgeries. Professional and helpful staff here. Very happy with the level of care.
His office provides vascular & interventional radiology. From the moment I walked in service and care was exceptional. The person at the front desk, the assistants and the doctor were both professional and very kind and friendly. Dr. Singha took his time to explain everything in terms I could understand. He even explained results about something I was told at my primary’s office which I didn’t understand. For both things he showed me as he explained on the screen on the laptop. He made sure I completely understood, how severe or mild things were and what to do. He was the most thorough and patient doctor I’ve ever been to in my over 60 years of life.
